Automated therapy, powered by AI
Up to 40% of passengers on your next flight are experiencing some level of anxiety. Additionally, 2.5% of the adult US population has a clinically significant flight phobia.
Common prescribed solutions for severe cases include sedatives (a short-term solution) or therapy (which can be expensive and slow).
Robin Donaldson and Christopher Paul Jones, the founders, met in 2015 when Robin was suffering from severe flight phobia. Chris, a trained therapist with a pioneering approach to treating phobias, helped Robin overcome his fear through several therapy sessions. Since then, Robin has flown over 400,000 miles!
Robin and Chris have teamed up to scale Chris's therapy for a broader audience. Chris brings his unique therapeutic approach to relieving phobias, while Robin contributes his extensive experience in building and scaling AI systems.
They are developing an AI-powered automated therapy solution, called Aphobic, which allows people to overcome their phobias without any human involvement.
Aphobic is currently in the prototype stage. They have developed an AI-powered prototype of the "Discover Your Strategy" step in their 9-step process to release flight phobia.
The Minimum Viable Product (MVP) is expected in Q1 2025 and will enable clients to overcome various phobias.
Watch this video to learn how the "Discover Your Strategy" step functions in the phobia-release process.
In the video, the automated therapist helps the client understand their subconscious process of being afraid of flying. If the AI system can elucidate this strategy, it can then help the client scramble it, thus releasing the phobia.
As Chris says, "Fear isn't something you catch; it's something you do."
Aphobic is the first product launched by Rockridge AI. Watch the video below to learn about the founders' journey.
